The following article is an attempt of foreword for a photography book project on which I have been working for the last ten years. I would appreciate any help in refining it.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Like Ulysses, I was very excited, at 25, to travel in South-East Asia. During that odyssey, I made numerous exotic encounters and, unlike the Greek Mythological hero, I gladly succumbed to the spell of the far away sirens.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Years later, I remembered the pleasure felt during this first journey. The charming naive women with sensual almond-shaped eyes, long and soft hair, and chocolate perfumed skin carried my fantasy towards a visual world almost unexplored.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Beauty was everywhere around me. I wrenched my neck multiple times trying to catch it all. I was going mad and, perfectionist that I was, I couldn\u2019t stop depicting in every detail that Eden that made me dream, yet was real.<\/span><\/h6>\n
South-East Asia, with its exoticism and its voluptuous island cultures connected to Mother Nature, had become a Paradise for me. And traveling through the jewel, I found myself nose to nose with the sirens depicted in this work. I had challenged these sirens to transform themselves into muses.<\/span><\/h6>\n
My aim in this project is to honor the South-East Asian women\u2019s sensuality, charming and radiant as they are. These photographs attempt to catch the very instant when these beauties forget that they are posing, allowing the spark that reveals their person. That is the true quality that I\u2019m looking for. I have concentrated on describing this truth, unique for each model, by a gesture, a look, an emotion. And in these movements I aspired to show the very instant where intense divine beauty unfolds itself.<\/span><\/h6>\n
The theme of sensuality was the main criteria when collaborating with my models. I had to be sure that we were on the same artistic wave. In fact, they had to understand exactly how my exploration of their femininity & sensuality through images aimed to celebrate ultimate beauty.<\/span><\/h6>\n
In addition, this book is an effort to transpose my passion, my dreams and my fantasies.<\/span><\/h6>\n
\u201cSirens\u201d is especially a desire to share my work with epicureans who can appreciate all forms of beauty and why not share my passion for that part of the world that is still unknown to the general public?<\/span><\/h6>\n
I also wish to express my gratitude to my friend Peter Godwin – well known for one of his videos \u00abImages of Heaven\u00a0\u00bb, produced in the 1980s (of course I\u2019m one of his greatest fans). He graciously accepted to let me include 25 of his songs\/poems to enhance the admiration that we, men, have towards those naturally beautiful women.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Hoping that this work will inspire you on a dreamlike and voluptuous odyssey during which you won\u2019t hear the warnings of the goddess Circe against the sirens\u2019 power of seduction. May you succumb to the temptation of their sublime lyrics written by Peter.<\/span><\/h6>\n

L\u2019article qui suit est une tentative d\u2019avant-propos \u00e0 un projet de livre de photographies que je m\u00e8ne depuis une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Je vous saurai alors gr\u00e9 de m\u2019aider \u00e0 l\u2019affiner.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
Tel Ulysse, je fus tout heureux d\u2019accomplir – \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 25 ans – un beau voyage en Asie du sud-est. Au cours de cette \u201codyss\u00e9e\u201d, je fis de nombreuses et exotiques rencontres, et, \u00e0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9 du h\u00e9ros de la mythologie grecque, je succombai volontiers au charme des sir\u00e8nes des antipodes.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>Bien des ann\u00e9es plus tard, je me rappelai la volupt\u00e9 des sentiments que j\u2019avais \u00e9prouv\u00e9 lors de ce premier p\u00e9riple. Le charme de ces femmes \u00ab\u00a0innocentes\u00a0\u00bb, aux yeux amandes & sensuels, aux cheveux souples & longs, et \u00e0 la peau senteur \u00ab\u00a0chocolat\u00a0\u00bb emportait mes fantasmes vers un monde visuel presqu\u2019inexploit\u00e9.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>La beaut\u00e9 \u00e9tait partout autour de moi. J\u2019en attrapai multiples torticolis. Je devenais fou, et, perfectionniste \u00e0 souhait, je n\u2019avais de cesse que de retranscrire en d\u00e9tail cet Eden qui me faisait r\u00eaver et qui \u00e9tait pourtant bien r\u00e9el.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>L\u2019Asie du sud-est \u00e9tait devenue pour moi un Paradis, de par son exotisme et ses cultures tr\u00e8s \u00ab\u00a0iliennes\u00a0\u00bb, tourn\u00e9es vers cette M\u00e8re-Nature, qui est, par essence, tr\u00e8s voluptueuse. Et c\u2019est en parcourant ces joyaux que j\u2019\u00e9tais tomb\u00e9 nez-\u00e0-nez avec ces sir\u00e8nes que je d\u00e9peins dans cet ouvrage. J\u2019avais alors mis ces sir\u00e8nes au d\u00e9fi de se transformer en muses.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>L\u2019essence de ce projet est de rendre hommage \u00e0 la sensualit\u00e9 des femmes, charmeuses et p\u00e9tillantes, d\u2019Asie du sud-est. Ces photographies tentent de capter l\u2019instant o\u00f9 ces sublimes cr\u00e9atures oublient qu\u2019elles posent, provoquant alors l\u2019\u00e9tincelle qui met \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0nu\u00a0\u00bb leur personnalit\u00e9. C\u2019est cette essence vraie de leur sensualit\u00e9 qui m\u2019int\u00e9resse. Je me suis donc attach\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9crire cette v\u00e9rit\u00e9, unique \u00e0 chacune de mes mod\u00e8les, par un geste, un regard, une \u00e9motion. Et, dans ces mouvements, j\u2019ai tent\u00e9 de saisir l\u2019instant o\u00f9 la beaut\u00e9, intense et divine, se r\u00e9v\u00e8le.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>La notion de sensualit\u00e9 fut d\u2019ailleurs le crit\u00e8re principal de collaboration avec mes mod\u00e8les. Je devais sentir qu\u2019elles \u00e9taient sur la m\u00eame longueur d\u2019onde artistique. Il s\u2019agissait en effet, pour elles, de comprendre exactement que ma propre exploration \u2013 par l\u2019image \u2013 de leur f\u00e9minit\u00e9 et de leur sensualit\u00e9 avait pour but essentiel de c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la beaut\u00e9 ultime.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>Ce livre a en outre pour ambition de retranscrire ma passion, mes r\u00eaves et mes fantasmes. \u00ab\u00a0Sir\u00e8nes\u00a0\u00bb est surtout une envie de partager mon travail avec des \u00e9picuriens, qui appr\u00e9cient la beaut\u00e9 sous tous ses sens, et, pourquoi pas, de partager ma passion pour cette partie du monde tr\u00e8s peu connue du grand public.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
\u00a0<\/em><\/span>Je souhaite \u00e9galement manifester toute ma gratitude \u00e0 mon ami Peter Godwin – connu notamment pour l\u2019un de ses tubes des ann\u00e9es \u201880s, \u00ab\u00a0Images of Heaven\u00a0\u00bb (dont je suis \u00e9videmment l\u2019un des plus grands \u00ab\u00a0fans\u00a0\u00bb), qui a accept\u00e9 de me laisser publier, ici, 25 de ses chants\/po\u00e8mes les plus gracieux, afin de mettre en exergue l\u2019admiration que nous, les hommes, portons envers ces femmes si naturelles de beaut\u00e9.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
Puisse donc ce recueil de photographies vous inspirer une onirique & voluptueuse odyss\u00e9e au cours de laquelle j\u2019ose esp\u00e9rer que vous resterez sourds aux mises en garde de la d\u00e9esse Circ\u00e9 contre le pouvoir de s\u00e9duction de ces sir\u00e8nes, et que vous ne r\u00e9sisterez pas \u00e0 la tentation de leurs sublimes chants, mis en paroles par Peter.<\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n
